July 12 AMA Board of Directors Meeting LOTS of good stuff coming our way with an strong focus on GRD and you - members!!!

GRD has been very busy and I will post some items for you to visit at the website to get more involved and to earn what Ed Moreland and his staff have been doing from DC.
July 9-11 AMA Hall of Fame Museum's Vintage Motorcycle Days (VMD) This was my first time at this event and I must say that it is now my absolute FAVORITE motorcycling event.  There was a brilliant family atmosphere, sense of community, friendship, & camaraderie.  I met SOOO many wonderful people and made a lot of new friends.

I took my chances and competed in the Vintage Grand Championship Motocross.  I am hooked!!!  Lots of falling in mud, stalling and pushing, but I saw that checkered flag and took 2nd place!!!!  This was an absolutely amazing experience!!!
July 8 AMA Hall of Fame Museum OPENING What an absolut6ely amazing change!!  The museum's first (main) floor now focuses on the heroes of our sport - our Hall of Famers!!  The ribbon cutting was attended by MANY Hall of Famers and was quite a prestigious event.  If you get a chance to swing by Pickerington, Ohio, be sure to visit!!!!
July 6-7 Women On Wheels Ride-In I attended the Women On Wheels 24th Annual Ride-In at Stratton Mountain, Vermont.  I was honored to be asked to be the keynote speaker, and also attended a round-table session of women leaders in motorcycling.  The event was wonderful and the WOW members were as enthusiastic as ever.  I took full advantage of the opportunity to share my optimism for the future of AMA, and to express the need for more female involvement.  With the number of women riders on the road, women are very under-represented in AMA memberships....

I was so thrilled to be awarded the WOW Trustees Award that evening.
